The construction work of the ropeway project is going on. One of the labourers said that if the Shrine Board wants to implement the ropeway project.
Then before that a compensation of Rs 20-20 lakh should be given to every laborer working on the building road. The High Power Committee coming to Katra will talk to the people about the ropeway project.
He demanded that the committee should also hold direct talks with the representatives of the workers so that a permanent solution can be found to this problem. If the talks fail, the working class will consider further strategy. The workers stopped work for some time, due to which the devotees who took horse, pithu and palanquin services during the Maa Vaishno Devi Yatra had to face inconvenience. However, after the demonstration ended at around two o’clock in the afternoon, the workers returned to work. In view of the demonstration, the police and administration remained fully alert.
