Jammu, February 28:
Miran Sahib police have arrested four people, including a notorious drug smuggler, in a strict action.
A pistol, some live cartridges and about 40 grams of narcotic substance ‘Chitta’ have been recovered from the accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Dilbagh Singh of Malikpur, Naman Kumar, of Naugram, Sandeep Sharma alias Sunny Sharma and another accomplice.
According to the police, Dilbagh Singh is said to be an old drug smuggler from the area. According to the information, the police had set up a naka on the Ring Road. Meanwhile, a suspicious car was stopped for investigation.
Seeing the police, the youths in the car tried to flee by increasing the speed of the car, but the alert police team immediately chased and caught them. During the search, pistols, cartridges and chitta were recovered from their possession. The police have registered a case against the accused and started further investigation. The police are also ascertaining the people with whom their wires are connected and from where this drug was brought.
