Jammu, July 12:
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Jammu division for the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain with heavy rain is likely in some areas in the next 24 hours. The weather in Jammu was mixed on Saturday. After this, there was sunshine and clouds throughout the day. The occasional cold winds brought relief from the heat, but the humidity also disturbed when the sun came out.
According to the Meteorological Department, on July 12, there may be one or two rains and thunderstorms at many places in Jammu division. Heavy rains and intense showers are expected at isolated places especially in the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal range. From July 13 to 17, the weather will be generally hot and humid. During this period, there may be light rain or thunderstorm at some places in Jammu division.
Thunderstorm likely in Kashmir in next few hours
At the same time, between July 18 and 20, a new round of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms may start at many places. The weather station Srinagar has predicted heavy rain and thunderstorm at many places in Kashmir division besides some areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi and Udhampur in the next 3-5 hours.
