The local people in the Arnia border area of Jammu are in deep dilemma regarding the ceasefire situation. Neither are they able to stay in safe places nor are they able to return homes completely.
Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on Monday, reports of ceasefire violations have further increased the anxiety and fear of the people.
Residents of Arnia sector have still not fully returned to their homes.
Villagers said cannot risk returning home with our family members. This is also affecting our daily activities.
The people living in the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir are still grappling with the devastation and mental trauma that has shaken the foundations of their lives.
Continuous artillery shelling and air strikes have rendered hundreds of families homeless and helpless. A government official said that in the preliminary assessment done so far, a total of 147 infrastructures have been found damaged, including 54 commercial establishments.
