Jammu, December 28:
Department of Home Science in collaboration with Pidilite Fevicryl organized Two Days Workshop on Fabric Painting on 27th and 28th December, 2022 . Ms. Sanjogita Dogra, a senior trainer from Pidilite Fevicryl and the proprietor of Buddha Art Gallery was the resource person for the workshop. Fabric painting can be used to decorate everything from clothing to Home Furnishings like curtains and tablecloths. It is the cheapest and easiest way to decorate the clothing. The painting can be done on a variety of fabrics from cotton, silk , linen to nylon and velvet. The resource person demonstrated basic and advanced fabric painting techniques. She also provided the information regarding the cloth, paints, brushes, palette, diluting medium and other materials. She also provided knowledge about painting tools and different strokes in fabric painting. The students were also taught to choose designs, color identification ,color mixing and various techniques of painting like brush filling, two shade and three shade blending technique, stencil, spray painting and block painting technique . Dr Irvinder Kaur, the HOD Home Science welcomed the participants in the workshop where they can develop creativity and said the workshop give access to the students to acquire and internalize the required entrepreneurial competencies. 50 students from various streams and semesters participated in the workshop with full zeal and fervour. Prof. Minu Mahajan, the principal of the college applauded the efforts of the department for organizing such training session for the college students which will train them to get self as well as wage employment in future. The Workshop was coordinated by Dr. Anjali Bhat, Prof. Neelam Bhagat, .Dr Ramandeep Kaur, Dr. Neelima Gupta and Prof. Shivani Sawhney. The participants were provided with the certificates .
