Fresh snowfall and rain in Kashmir, sub-zero temperature in Gulmarg-Pahalgam

Srinagar, December 23:
Parts of Kashmir received fresh snowfall and rain, while most parts of the valley recorded sub-zero minimum temperatures. According to officials, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 2.7 degrees Celsius on Monday night, down from 4 degrees Celsius the previous day, but 5.1 degrees above the normal weather level.
Gulmarg, located in the higher reaches of north Kashmir, continued to receive snowfall overnight and continued till morning. Shopian district, Mughal Road and Gurez area of Bandipora were also covered by snowfall. There was rain at some places in the plains of the valley.
Tourist destinations of Gulmarg and Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded minimum temperatures of minus 2.2 and minus 0.2 degrees Celsius. Kanjigund recorded a low of 3.2 degrees Celsius while Kokernag recorded a low of 2.8 degrees Celsius. Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a minimum temperature of 2.4 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky and light rain at some places. The department has also forecast dry weather for the next few days.
