Jammu, January 1: Encounter between security forces and militants continues in Jammu and Kashmir. There are reports of two soldiers being martyred in the encounter. The militants surrounded the militants on Tuesday. The search operation is currently underway. According to reports, the terrorists attacked the Indian Army during a search operation in Nowshera sector. Two soldiers have been killed in this attack. Operation is still going on.
The martyred soldiers have been identified as Rifleman Arjun Thapa (25) and Lansanayak Sandip Sawant. Arjun Thapa Nepal and Sandip Sawant were from Maharashtra. Significantly, the Indian Army and the police conducted a search operation when three suspects were seen in the Darat / Mangaladei area adjacent to Kalal on the LoC. The search continues from 7 am on Tuesday.
The jungle was searched, but no success was achieved till late in the evening. SDPO Naushehra Brijesh Sharma told that search operation is going on since morning. Earlier on Tuesday, a mine blast occurred near the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. A local citizen was injured in the blast. The army started a search operation by sieging the entire area. Military sources said that he was leaving his work in the adjoining area near the local civilian border. Where he was hit by a land mine. The injured citizen has been admitted to the hospital. The army is investigating how the blast happened.
