Jammu, June 17:
The festival of Eid ul-Azha is being celebrated with great pomp in both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir. The devotees offered Eid prayers in the Eidgahs of 20 districts of the state and prayed for peace, happiness and prosperity for the state and the country along with their families.
Talking about Jammu city, Namaz was offered at 22 places here. Namaz was offered at 7 am in Eidgah Digyana, 7:30 am in Residency Eidgah, 7:30 am in Siddara, 6:30 am in Malik Market Eidgah, 8:30 am in Talab Khatika, 7:30 am in Jamia Masjid Karyani Talab Bathindi, 8:30 am in Railway Station Masjid, 7:30 am in Sujwan Eidgah, 7:30 am in Police Line Chhanni Masjid, 6:30 am in Jamia Masjid Ustad Mohalla, 7:00 am in Kunjwani Masjid, 6:30 am in Gol Market Gandhi Nagar, 7:00 am in Bathindi Masjid, 9:00 am in Pul Tawi Masjid, 7:00 am in Narwal Masjid, 7:30 am in Eidgah Janipur, 6:15 am in Gol Masjid Jalalabad Sujwan, 9:00 am in New Plant, 8:30 am in Anjuman Imamiya Complex, 9:00 am in Bathindi.
After the namaz, people hugged each other and wished each other Eid Mubarak. Sweets were also distributed in abundance. Tight security arrangements have been made across the state on the occasion of Eid. Police officers were present near various Eidgahs since morning. The SSP had divided the Eidgah area into various sectors to maintain security.
