The police took a major crackdown against drugs in Pattan on Friday.
Here the illegal network of drugs running under the guise of medical stores has been exposed.
The police have arrested two accused in the case. Also, two medical establishments were sealed.
Police station Pattan had received information that Musadiq Rashid of Yadipora, runs Musa Medicate Store near Yatu Trauma Hospital, Pattan. He is secretly selling drugs to the youth. The police registered an FIR.
After obtaining a search warrant from the JMIC court, the police raided Musa Medicate in the presence of Executive Magistrate First Class, Drug Control Officer and witnesses. The accused Musadiq was caught red-handed selling drugs.
7 strips of tramadol, a total of 105 tablets, were seized from him. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he used to supply drugs to Irfan Yusuf Wani of Sherpora Bangil.
Wani Pharma Distributor near GDC Pattan. After this, the police raided the Wani Pharma distributor. The accused’s house in Sherpora Bangil was also searched.
The police are now investigating the backward and forward linkages of this network.
The police have appealed to the people to immediately share any information related to the drug trade.
