The water of the famous Achhabal waterfall in Kashmir has completely dried up. Due to this many people are struggling for water. According to information, 65 percent of water sources in the entire region are depleting severely. This is creating drought-like conditions. Environmental experts blame climate change and global warming for this crisis, which has greatly affected the lower Himalayan region.
Other water sources, including groundwater, are also drying up. Though some wetlands, such as Hokarsar, have improved due to temporary conservation measures. Experts warn that the crisis will worsen without a comprehensive water management policy.” “We need a holistic approach to managing water resources, especially for rivers like Jhelum and Chenab.
