Today youth of Jammu City area along with the leaders of Dogra Youth protested on Sunday to press for the demand of a playground at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
The protest was held under the leadership of Partap Singh Jamwal and Bhanu Partap Goria. Aggressive protesters raised slogans against the govt. Government and JDA and also raised “Khelo India ka Vadha Khokhala Hai Khokhala Hai”, “We want Playground”, “Sarkar Apna Vadha Pura Karo Pura Karo” and demanded immediate construction of the said play ground to promote sport culture in Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Pratap Singh Jamwal regretted that the land allotted for the play ground at Bhagwati Nagar has turned into a filthy place where the garbage of the adjacent areas is being dumped to cause nuisance to the public health and hygiene. In a statement issued to mercury times, he said that their children have no place to play as most of them come from poor financial backgrounds.
“Youth belong to a city area and we aren’t so rich. These youth are facing a lot of problems because there is no playground.
Partap alleged that nobody from the BJP including the local ex-MLA & former ministers bothered to pay any heed upon the miserable plight of the land while in power and the youth of Jammu faced the worst ever discrimination under BJP rule.
Besides facing obnoxious bias in employment, the young fraternity was being trapped in drug addiction by the rampant mafia operating in the entire province.
During the protest, Bhanu Partap Goria said that the people have been requesting the authorities to convert a piece of JDA land available in the ward 14 Bhagwati Nagar into a playground.
“We have already given an application to the Administration, But administration not take serious concorned about this.
Bhanu lambasting the JDA for keeping the land in mess warned the agency to clean the land within a week or else Youth would take an agitational course. He also urged the Governor to take serious cognizance of the proposal of the Play Ground which has failed to see the light of the day.
Bhanu Partap appealed to LG of J&K to facilitate the early construction of the most cherished Play Ground which would provide opportunities to the local youth to harness their talent in the field of sports.
Bhanu appeal to the LG administration to listen to us and provide us with a ground.
