Jammu, January 4:
High Court lawyer Kannav Sharma was injured in a broad daylight shootout. The incident took place on Friday in front of the electricity house in New Plot area. Here, meter reader Ravinder Singh shot at Kannav in a dispute over vehicle parking. After firing the shot, he fled from the spot.
The injured lawyer, soaked in blood, was taken to GMC in a car by a local woman. The injured Kannav is the son of former Additional Advocate General of High Court and senior BJP leader Chandra Mohan Sharma. After the incident, there was a rush of people at the spot and GMC. Apart from his father, family, relatives, a large number of lawyers also reached the hospital.
By then the doctors had started the treatment. During the treatment it was found that the bullet had hit the lower left side of the stomach. A case has been registered in Bakshi Nagar Police Station.
Injured Kannav says that at one o’clock in the afternoon he was parking his car (JK02DN 2346) on an empty road in front of the power house. Then a person came from the power house and said that don’t park the car, this is our place.
When asked that no one has personal right on the road. The argument escalated on this. The person took out a revolver and said should I shoot. The argument was still going on when he fired the shot.
A few minutes after the incident, Kannav’s neighbor reached there. She saw that Kannav was lying on the road soaked in blood. She took him to Sarwal hospital and also informed the family and the police.
