On 26th day of continues protest, the employees of Dharmarth Trust on Saturday warned the administration to go on chain hunger strike from December 28, 2020 if their demand of constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will not fulfill.
They sought intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in resolving various demands that they have raised including enhancement of their salaries.
Hundreds of employees including priests from various units of the trust such as Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttar Behani, Birpur and Central Office Karan Bhawan participated in the protest.
“It is very unfortunate that the employees of the Dharmarth Trust are forced into the streets by the rigid attitude of the management which has failed to address their genuine issues,” association member said.
They said they have assembled here to demand the merger of all Dharmarth Trust temples with SMVDSB for their proper development.
Whenever employees raised their voice, they told Ek Jutt Jammu , said, their service has been terminated or and it is already happened in 2001 when the service of the Association President and General Secretary were terminated as they projected the demands of the poor and low paid employees of the trust and also expose the corrupt policies of trust management and now they again adopt same method to suspend our five employees so that rest of employees remain silent.
After listening to the issues of employees, Ankur Sharma president Ek Jutt Jammu asked them their demands and issues are genuine and Dharmarth Trust management must take action in this regard immediately. Ek Jutt ensure to delegation full-fledged support to the association delegation & one more memorandum submit to the chairman (Sh. Inderjeet Khajuria) of two organization one of the Hotel Association & Paryatan Vikas Mandal he is also assure to the full support.
Talking to reporters, ex-President Kernail Chand Thakur, ex-General Secretary, Pritam Sharma alleged that Secretary Dharmarth Trust suspended five employees of the trust on the plea that these employees participated in undesirable activities and used unparliamentary language against Chairman Trustee and trust management and malign the reputation of the trust which is incorrect, baseless, manipulated and denied by the employees vide written reply submitted on November 12, 2020.
“We shall continue our agitation till our demands will be met by the Trust members,” protesting employees asserted.
Later, an executive body meeting was held under the Working President Rajinder Shastri in which future course of action discussed. It was decided that association shall call a meeting of representatives of all social, religious, political and non political organizations and senior citizens of Jammu to aware them about the malfunctioning in Dharmarth Trust.
Surjeet Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Rajinder Sharstri, Jagjeet Chand, Anil Sharma, Balwant Shatari, Harbans Shastari, Madan Sharma, Pt. Jeeven Kumar, Kundan Lal, Subash Shastri, Rakesh Shastari, Rekha Devi, Bandana Devi, Sneha Handa, Vimal Khahuria, Bablu Kumar, Pt. Ashwani Kumar, Sat Paul Pandit, Rajesh Kulkarni , Sagar Singh and Bhikham Singh were also present.
