Reports of the rapid melting of the holy snow Shivling at the Amarnath cave shrine this year have raised concerns among the devotees.
In the month of May, its height was said to be about 7 feet, which came down to about 5 feet by the end of June. Now according to the latest information, the height of the Shivling has come down to about 1 foot.
Five thousand devotees of Baba Barfani stopped in Lakhanpur without registration Devotees coming to Amarnath Yatra.
They will have to go to Jammu and Kashmir only after registration is confirmed. The administration has started stopping the devotees of Baba Barfani arriving without registration at Lakhanpur.
The administration has taken this decision after the number of devotees arriving continuously without registration.
The slots for immediate registration were not available. There is also disappointment among the devotees due to lack of yatra registration through both online and offline means.
