Devotees have started increasing before the arrival of the New Year in Mata Vaishno Devi Dham. It is expected that in the coming week, about two lakh devotees will reach the Maa Vaishno Devi. For the safety of the devotees, the security forces and intelligence agencies along with the police have become fully active.
The local administration along with the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has made all kinds of proper arrangements.
In the last few days, between 15000 to 20000 devotees were reaching the religious city of Katra every day. At present, this figure has increased to between 19000 and 25000.
On Thursday, the weather was mixed throughout the day.
Although it remained sunny till noon and after that there was a gathering of clouds in the sky. Despite the changing weather, the helicopter service operating from Katra was available to the devotees throughout the day. At the same time, the battery car and ropeway running on the building route continued to take advantage of the service.
On December 24, 24,400 pilgrims had travelled, while by 4 pm on December 25, about 17,000 pilgrims had left for the Bhavan.
