Crackdown on illegal mining, 10 vehicles seized: Reasi Police

Reasi, July 1:
In a drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators, Reasi police has initiated strict action against the criminals involved in illegal mining & minting money out of the public resources.
In random checking, police teams of Reasi Police inspected at different locations during intervening night of 30th June and 1st July and seized 10 Vehicles engaged in illegal mining during night hours.
These night long surprise operation was carried out at different locations on the rivulets and tributaries of perennial river ‘Ans’ (Badhora Nallah, Tharal Ganjote) and various other spots in sub division Mahore and seized seven tractor-trolleys and one tipper bearing registration numbers JK20A-0475, JK 20B 2418, JK20B 8701, JK 20B- 8483, JK 20B- 8493, JK20B-2135, JK 20B-2806, & Tipper with Reg No. JK20- 5653 loaded with minerals illegally extracted from various Nallahs during the dark of night in remote locations of Mahore Area.
Simultaneously team of Police Station Reasi Seized two Tractors-trollies bearing registration numbers JK02BX 9126 & JK20 3954 involved in illegal mining in another Nallah ‘Anji’ of Reasi.
All these vehicles were found engaged in illegal mining and transportation of illegally extracted minerals .
Reasi Police has seized 57 Vehicles involved in the business of illegal mining since April 2021 & booked under Mining Act by the concerned Authorities. A fine of Rs 8,52,800 rupees slapped upon the violators.
