Jammu, October 5:
Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai today took over the command of the Chinar Corps, under which he has served for the last 16 months. This period saw the creation of a robust security framework for peace and stability in the region, successful conduct of two successful Amarnath Yatras, Lok Sabha elections in May 2024 and Assembly elections after 10 years between September to October 2024. The Corps has achieved success in several successful counter infiltration operations along the Line of Control and operations against terrorists in the Valley, dealing a severe and decisive blow to the terror network. Today, the region stands at the threshold of a new dawn.
During this time, various programs were also organized to connect with the people of Kashmir, and the outgoing Corps Commander will be remembered for his humanity and friendly approach. Lieutenant General Ghai will now take over as Director General Military Operations at Army Headquarters. He greeted the people of Kashmir and wished them a bright and promising future.
At the same time, Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava took command of the strategic Kashmir-based Chinar Corps. On taking command, he paid tribute at the Chinar War Memorial in Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar, where he honored the sacrifices of the country’s brave martyrs.
