Bride worth Rs 3 lakh in Akhnoor absconded two days after marriage; groom was duped

Jammu, August 23:
The bride worth Rs 3 lakhs from Chowki Chaura area of Akhnoor absconded just two days after the wedding. The police took action in this case and arrested the middleman.

The bride and her fake maternal uncle, and priest and registered a case against the accused and started investigation.
The victim of this fake marriage was Rachpal Chand, son of Chatru Ram, resident of Dori Dager, Chowki Chaura.

Rachpal was not getting married and taking advantage of this, Deepak Kumar, who lived in Dhana Chhapri, Chowki Chaura, came to him.
Deepak Kumar deceived Rachpal by saying that he will bring a bride from another state for him for Rs. 3 lakh and get him married.

Rachpal also got convinced by Deepak’s words. After this Deepak introduced Rachpal to a young woman Kusum Lata from Bihar as his bride and got them married on 11th August by taking Rs. 3 lakh.
The police registered a case and started investigating and arrested the accused by raiding various places. The police say that this is a whole gang which organises such marriages in the name of marriage bureau.
