Bootlegger held with 50/60 ltrs of lahan & desi liquor

Samba, October 4:
In continuation with its drive against the illegal sale of liquor in the district, Samba Police in consecutive day arrested a person and destroyed about 50/60 litres of lahan with the recovery of 05 litres desi illicit liquor at village Surara in the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding distillation of desi illicit liquor at village Surara, Police team of PS Ghagwal conducted raid at village Surara and caught a person red handed manufacturing desi liquor illegally. The accused person was identified as Tek Raj S/O Sadhu Ram R/O Surara, Ghagwal , who has been arrested on spot.
Around 50-60 litres of freshly prepared lahan was destroyed  which on further dilution would have  turned  into desi liquor. Moreover 05 litres of desi illicit liquor was also seized on spot along with the stills, utensils which were being used for the manufacture of illegal Desi liquor.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 111/2020 U/S 48 (e) Excise Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation taken up.
