No outside SIM but outsider vote made valid in J&K: Sahni
JAMMU, Aug 19: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit expressed great disaapointment against the decision of the Election Commission for allowing voting rights to the non-locals residing in Jammu and Kashmir, terming it as a conspiracy of BJP led government at the Centre to grab the corridor of power.
Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K strongly condemned the voting rights to non-local and illegal citizens in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that with the help of the Delimitation Commission first, now the BJP will make every possible effort to take political advantage.
Sensing the ever-increasing frustration and resentment towards the BJP in the people of the state, now a game is being played to grab the power of Jammu and Kashmir with the help of non-local and illegal citizens, he said, adding that during the regimes of PDP and BJP and some previous Govt, there were hundreds of illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis camping in Jammu and Kashmir to become permanent residents who also have Aadhar cards of the Government of India.
Shiv Sena had raised a strong voice against this matter, but after getting the right to vote, the efforts to deport them out of this strategically sensitive state will be hit hard, due to which there is already a deep crisis on the security of the state which will deepen.
He said that the Central Government is betraying the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said such step of government will influence the culture and identity of people of Jammu and Kashmir which will never be tolerated at any costs.
Sahni said that it is a matter of great surprise that the right to vote is being given to outsiders in a state where even external SIM is not valid. He asserted that BJP is playing with the native citizens of Jammu and Kashmir for its political gains, which will not be tolerated at all. He advised all the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir to come together on the streets against this decision of the Election Commission.
