Baramulla, July 19:
On Friday, a large number of people gathered on the Baramulla-Srinagar highway and protested against the administration over the shortage of drinking water.
Police and administration officials also reached the spot to convince the people. But the protesters remained adamant on their demand for immediate solution to the problem.
Meanwhile, there was a long jam on both sides of the highway. The situation at the protest site started getting out of control. There was also a scuffle between the police and the people. Meanwhile, violence broke out. During this, many people including Kashmir BJP media in-charge Advocate Sajid Yusuf Shah and his PSO were injured.
The police also fired some rounds in the air to disperse the crowd. After some time, the situation was brought under control.
