Jammu, September 5:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will release the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections on Friday.
Shah will arrive in Jammu on a two-day visit at around 2 pm on Friday. According to BJP sources, on the first day of Shah’s visit, he will hold a meeting with the core group of the state BJP unit in which the party’s election preparations and ground-level activities will be reviewed. On the second day, Shah will hold extensive discussions with party leaders to ensure the success of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
219 candidates are in the fray in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. And voting will take place on September 18. This election is the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370. The BJP’s manifesto is likely to focus on good governance and promoting tourism in Kashmir.
An important announcement is expected especially regarding the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. Which is a major issue of the election campaign. BJP’s manifesto may propose concrete plans for the return of Kashmiri Pandits and take concrete steps towards ensuring their security.
