There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees for Shri Amarnath Yatra. In view of the increasing number of pilgrims. The token quota has been increased to 5000 per day. Also, four new counters have been set up at three registration centers. Taking the total number of counters to 24. This is providing convenience to the pilgrims.
On July 3, 2000 tokens were issued, but due to the increasing number of devotees, it was continuously increased. Now on Sunday, this number reached 5000. According to an administrative officer, the purpose of increasing the tokens is to send more and more devotees to Baltal and Pahalgam by giving them the facility of instant registration.
We have increased two registration counters at Mahajan Hall, Shalamar Road, one each at Vaishnavi Dham near the railway station and Panchayat Bhawan. The number of passengers is constantly increasing and the weather has also been favorable so far.
There has been no major change in the weather from Lakhanpur to Kashmir and the pilgrimage has not been affected even for a single day so far. In Jammu city, devotees are creating a devotional atmosphere by chanting ‘Bam-Bam Bhole’ and ‘Jai Shiv Sankar’. Thousands of devotees are gathering daily at the token and registration centers. Among them, many pilgrims are leaving with a group from Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, while a large number are reaching Baltal and Pahalgam directly.
