Jammu, February 12:
Two soldiers including a captain were martyred in an IED blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector on Tuesday. One soldier is injured. The martyred soldiers have been identified as Captain KS Bakshi and Naik Mukesh Kumar of the Army’s 9 Punjab Regiment. The blast is being described as a conspiracy of terrorists. The news of Naik Mukesh’s martyrdom, there was mourning in his village Kamila. The family members are inconsolable.
Officials said that the army soldiers were on patrolling duty near the LoC. Around 3:50 pm, three soldiers were hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) near the Laleyali post in Bhattal area. All three injured were immediately taken to the Army Command Hospital Udhampur. Where two soldiers including the Captain died. Meanwhile, after the explosion, the security forces have cordoned off the entire area. Additional soldiers have been deployed and an operation has been started to search for the terrorists. The area is being searched with full intensity.
