The chowk of Salamachak village of Pura is constantly causing road accidents. According to the locals, accidents happen on this chowk every day. They said hardly a day passes when there is no accident here.
This chowk is the road leading from Dablad to Jammu and the road to R.S. Connects the road leading from Pura to Salad. Locals say that many people have been injured in the accidents at this square and have broken their hands and legs. A few days ago, a woman died tragically at the same chowk. At the same time, a person escaped unhurt after being hit by a truck last night.
Despite the continuous accidents, locals allege that no concrete steps have been taken by the administration to solve this problem. People say that they have also requested the local MLA several times regarding this matter, but so far no proper arrangements have been made for the security of the chowk.
Locals have once again appealed to the administration to install speed breakers around Salamachak Chowk and make proper road safety arrangements so that the speed of vehicles can be controlled and no life is lost in future accidents.
