Jammu, November 5:
The National Conference is currently facing two-pronged pressure in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. While the resignation of Srinagar MP Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has already made the party uncomfortable.
The organised protest of two dozen MLAs has now created a serious headache for the government and the party organisation.
The root of this political storm is the cabinet expansion of October 27. The party’s grassroots workers and senior MLAs have alleged that the top leaders who have held the party flag for decades have been sidelined by giving preference to new faces.
The dissident camp argues that the reshuffle not only disregarded seniority.
As a result, there was a sharp resentment among the people’s representatives, who were hoping for a wider share of power.
All grievances will be resolved soon, but the secret mobilization of the MLAs is indicating something else. In such a situation, the proposed meeting between the party high command and the disgruntled MLAs on Friday is considered very important from the point of view.
From secret meetings to memorandums… This resentment of the legislators has not been limited to mere verbal statements, but has taken an organized form.
The disgruntled MLAs have submitted a detailed memorandum to the high command, formalising their strategy.
