Srinagar, October 10:
Today, four independent MLAs joined the National Conference (NC) and brought the party’s tally to a majority. Now NC has 46 MLAs, making the party in a position to form a government even without the Congress.
The joining of these new members has further strengthened the political position of the National Conference. The party leaders welcomed these candidates and said that this step is important towards establishing a stable and effective government in Jammu and Kashmir.
National Conference leaders Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah said on the occasion that they are committed to maintaining the trust of the people and working for the development of the state. With this new political equation, the National Conference is planning to expedite the process of formation of the upcoming government. This move of the party can prove to be a turning point in the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.
The independent candidates who joined the NC are

2- Satish Sharma, from Chamb
3- Chaudhary Akram, from Surankot
4- Rameshwar Singh, from Bani
