Dhanteras Katihar is being celebrated all over India today, while this auspicious occasion is also being celebrated with great pomp in the J&K UT.
Since morning, there has been a huge crowd of people in the markets, especially at jewellery shops, utensils shops and décor shops.
There is a tradition of buying gold, silver, utensils and other auspicious things on Dhanteras. It is believed that the purchases made on this day increase happiness and prosperity in the house.
The biggest crowd in the markets was seen by women. The women shopped for gold and silver ornaments as well as steel utensils.
Shopkeepers had provided utensils in every range and every size according to the choice of the people.
Overall, there was a festival-like atmosphere in the entire market on Dhanteras.
The faces of the shopkeepers also lit up seeing the crowd of customers.
