Tight security in Kashmir ahead of Vice President’s visit, tight arrangements from city to highway

Srinagar, February 22:
Tight security arrangements have been made ahead of Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s visit to Kashmir.

Security has been beefed up on the Srinagar-Jammu highway from Srinagar city. Security personnel are keeping a close eye on them everywhere.

The Vice President is scheduled to attend the 21st convocation of the University of Kashmir on February 26. Tight security arrangements have been made by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and other security agencies.
Cordon and search operations are being carried out in several areas of Srinagar city.
In order to further strengthen security, patrolling in the interior has also been increased along with deployment of additional forces in sensitive areas.

Mobile check-points have also been set up at several places in Srinagar city. Especially at all entry points. Similar security measures are likely to continue in other parts of Srinagar in the coming days, the officials said.

Apart from this, the police have increased security arrangements on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
