Jammu, March 10:
The Jammu (Rural) Police has apprehended 11 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of mining material at different places in rural areas.
A police party of Police Post Jaurian along with Naib Tehsildar Jaurian conducted a joint operation in Jad area. They seized several vehicles involved in illegal mining.
The seized vehicles include JCB (JK02CK-5572), JCB Ranger (chassis number PUNJD21AK3274506), Ranger JCB (chassis number PUNJD21AKN3146869).
Tipper registration number JK02CS-8455 and 4 dumper registration numbers JK02CV-9799, JK02CH-5966, JK02DC-9181 and JK02CJ-7986.
In another operation, a police party from Police Post Chinor apprehended a tractor trolley registration number JK02BH-3998.
It was found to be involved in illegal mining without valid permission.
Similarly, a police party from Police Post Paunichak intercepted a tractor trolley (chassis number BXADL1540732S3) which was found to be involved in illegal mining activity.
In a separate operation, a police party from Police Post Pallanwala intercepted a tractor trolley (JK02DE-4334).
It was loaded with limestone and was involved in illegal mining.
In all cases, the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu has been informed for further necessary legal action.
