Jammu, September 29:
A love affair is emerging in the case of Mehjabeen, a young woman from Mumbai who was shot dead in her home in a Sainik colony. Initial interrogation of the accused, Army personnel Sher Singh, revealed that on the day of the incident. He entered the house by scaling a wall and fired approximately nine rounds at the three young women inside.
The accused then fled the scene. He was in contact with a young woman working in physiotherapy, whom he wanted to marry.
According to sources, investigations revealed that on August 21st, the day of the shooting, Mehjabeen, Fatima from Mumbai, and Jaspreet Kaur from Ludhiana, along with another girl, were present at the house where the shooting occurred.
All of them worked at a physiotherapy center. The fourth woman had left the house where the shooting occurred some time before the shooting. She had previously had an argument with the other three women about the military personnel’s visit to the house.
When the soldier learned of this, he rushed to the house in a rage and opened fire on the three women. He was in contact with a fourth woman and felt they were obstacles in his path. He decided to eliminate them.
The soldier was posted at the Army Movement Control Office (MCO) at the Jammu Railway Station. He reserves train seats for military personnel. The accused soldier is on five-day remand. Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.
During interrogation, the soldier revealed several important details. The doctor is expected to be questioned and arrested in the coming days. Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, Jammu, Surjeet Singh, stated that the case is under investigation.
