Jammu, February 12:
The district police have arrested a notorious habitual drug smuggler from Ramgarh area in a major success against crime and drug trafficking.
The police have recovered a pistol, five live cartridges and 20.23 grams of chitta from his possession of the accused.
On the basis of information, the Ramgarh police station under the leadership of SHO, a special naka was set up near the water tank on the Rajpura-Jatta road.
During this time, a suspicious person going towards Swankha from village Khaud was stopped.
During the search, illegal weapons, cartridges and a huge quantity of narcotics were recovered from his possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ranju Chaudhary son Kuldeep Singh, resident of Kathar, Tehsil Arnia.
Weapons, cartridges and narcotics were seized on the spot and the accused was taken into custody.
A case has been registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs Act and the Arms Act.
