Ahoi Ashtami Vrat is observed on the eighth day (Ashtami Tithi) of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik (13th October). This was stated by Mahant Rohit Shastri, Jyotishacharya and President of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust.
This fast is observed by mothers for the long life, good health, prosperity, and happiness of their children by worshipping Ahoi Mata (an incarnation of Goddess Parvati).
