Preparations are being made to bring global companies to Jammu and Kashmir: CM Omar says target of first one GCC, then five and ten

Jammu, October 10:
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the state government is ready to bring global companies in the government. The opening of the first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Jammu and Kashmir will also be a big success.

This could open the way for a further five and then ten GCC. For this, we will learn from the experiences of other states. We create such an environment, so that companies find it easy to do business and investing proves to be a profitable deal.

The CM addressed the inaugural session of the Jammu and Kashmir GCC Summit-2026 held at IIM Jammu online from New Delhi on Friday.

Calling upon the companies to set up GCC in the Union Territory. He said the image created among businessmen about Jammu and Kashmir has been a problem for three decades.
The CM said that he will learn business experiences from cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The focus will be on attracting investments for the GCC, competing with cities like Jaipur, Pune and Mohali. He said, the advantage of starting late is that by learning from the experience of other cities, their mistakes can be avoided. Companies will not come to invest only on the basis of sympathy, they should also see the benefit in business here. The climate of Jammu and Kashmir with road, rail and air connectivity can also help attract companies.
