Srinagar, July 14:
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted a major change in the weather across Jammu and Kashmir from July 18.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain generally hot and humid till July 17.
Apart from this, the conditions will change from July 18. The sky will be light to generally cloudy and light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at many places.
Some areas of Jammu division may also receive heavy rains for some time.
Rainfall activity is expected to increase further between July 20 and 22.
The peak of rain is expected on July 21. Heavy rains or heavy showers may occur at some places in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions. On July 23, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers again at many places.
The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory warning of heavy rain and heavy showers for a short time between the night of July 18. The morning of July 19 and again between July 20 and 22.
The IMD has warned that heavy rains in Chenab Valley, Pir Panjal range and some hilly areas of Kashmir division during July 20-22.
It may cause flash floods, landslides and mudslides. People have been advised to be careful, avoid going near drains and springs.
