Udhampur, August 4:
The central government has given a big gift for the Udhampur region. The Union Cabinet has approved the construction of strategic Sudhamahadev-Dranga and Singhpora-Velu tunnel projects.
With the construction of these two tunnels. The better traffic will be available throughout the year in the hilly areas. Even the farmers will get a big relief in transporting their produce to the market.
After the completion of the project, the movement between Chinani, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Kashmir Valley will become easier and more safe.
There is a lot of enthusiasm among the farmers of Basht Panchayat area of Udhampur about this project.
Locals believe that the project will create new possibilities not only for the agriculture sector, but also for employment, tourism and trade. The construction of the tunnels is expected to provide employment opportunities to the local youth and strengthen the rural economy of the region.
