Jammu, July 9:
Amidst preparations for Dalai Lama’s visit to Ladakh. The traders of Leh ended their strike on Wednesday on the request of the organizations of the region. And on the assurances of the administration. Leh returned to its glory after the market opened after 35 hours.
Dalai Lama will be given a grand welcome on his arrival in Leh. The Ladakh Buddhist Association and other organizations engaged in preparations for the tour. They had appealed to the Leh Trade Organization to end the strike. The LADC along with the district administration was trying its best to ensure that the strike of traders in the district does not last long.
The traders in Leh protested on Wednesday afternoon demanding protection of the interests of the local traders. They also strongly objected to the losses being suffered by the local traders due to the violation of trade rules by the outside traders.
