Jammu, July 23: Colonel SS Pathania, President, Sainik Samaj Party and Co Convenor UDA, requested honorable Lt governor and union government to shift toll plaza from Lakhanpur to Kashmir region and ensure justice to people of jammu . People of jammu region are feeling wronged ,agitated and frustrated , projecting their annoyance and anger ,on opening of fourth toll plaza in Jammu region, wheras in Kashmir region ,there is only one toll plaza.It is the prime responsibility of the government to ensure that no discrimination ,whatsever is done to any region and its people. Government, displayed its concern and empathy ,for people by announcingkm a package of 20 Lacs crore, with a view to provide relief, against the deadly onslaught of Covid 19.
No doubt government needs additional money, as the nation is facing, its worst crisis since independence,in fighting Corona ,But people too have suffered financially due to corona effects, and finding it difficult to make both ends meet. Any additional financial load at this juncture, may prove disasterous for common man, hence needs to be viewed with compassion and empathy.It is ironical that earlier toll plaza at lakhanpur was closed by the BJP only.Chain of toll plazas will not only dissuade pilgrims visiting AmarNath and Vaishno Devi shrines, but also adversely affect the religious and normal tourism across the UT. Pathania,requested government, to roll back functioning of toll plaza at lakhanpur, in consonance with the aspirations of people, and take a fresh call, on stabilization of covid 19,in a pragmatic, people friendly and holistic manner.
