Srinagar, July 25:
A series of events are being organised to mark the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Dras. This is to remember the indomitable courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers in the Kargil War.
The Army kicked off the two-day celebrations from Saturday. It includes events such as war memorabilia, Shaurya Sandhya and white horse motorcycle display.
The main focus of these events will be the historic Kargil War Memorial at Drass. Apart from this, homage and memorial programs will also be organized at many places.
The celebrations began on Saturday with a war commemoration programme at Lamochan View Point.
A video presentation showcased the heroic tales of the war. Also paid tribute to the sacrifices of 40 Kargil heroes, whose families will also be present at the event.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest at the ‘Shaurya Sandhya’ to be held at the Kargil War Memorial in the evening.
