Preparations for Independence Day are going on in full swing in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to an order issued by the General Administrative Department, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar and Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Chaudhary in Jammu will be the chief guests at the main function and will hoist the national flag. Government employees and officials have been asked to take part in the Independence Day celebrations.
Preparations for Independence Day celebrations are in full swing in educational institutions. The rehearsal of the school students participating in the parade has reached the final stage. On Friday, the students who took part in the parade of the Independence Day celebrations at the Government Higher Secondary School in Gandhinagar participated in the rehearsal with enthusiasm. On this occasion, Neelam Sharma, Vice Principal of the school, said that every year the school students participate in the Independence Day parade and last year the school contingent stood first.
At the same time, the BJP is running the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on Independence Day. The party is appealing to the people to show respect and patriotism towards the nation by hoisting the national flag at their homes, establishments and offices.
