Poonch, July 17:
The Poonch district police has achieved another major success. In separate operations conducted by the Surankot police station, the police have seized 10 vehicles and heavy machines.
Based on credible inputs and as part of the ongoing drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals. The teams of Surankot Police Station carried out intensive checking and action operations at several places in their jurisdiction.
During these operations, a total of seven dumpers, one tipper, one JCB machine. One Poklen chain machine were seized for their alleged involvement in illegal mining activities (especially from the riverbanks).
Poonch District Police is committed to take strict action against those involved in such illegal activities. It will continue to carry out regular action drives to curb illegal mining across the district.
The general public has been appealed to cooperate with the police by reporting illegal mining or any other illegal activity to the nearest police station, so that immediate legal action can be taken against the violators.
Poonch District Police reiterates its resolve to protect natural resources, ensure rule of law and maintain the ecological balance of the district through sustained and effective action.
