Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra reacted to the recent Supreme Court decision. The decision which refused to hear a petition seeking to restrain the Lieutenant Governor from appointing members to the Assembly.
Karra said that the party had filed a petition in the Supreme Court, which was scheduled for hearing today. However, the court did not take any decision in the matter. Karra said, we had filed a petition in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court did not reject it, but refused to hear it.
The Supreme Court told us that you have an option, that is the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. First you go there, and if you are not satisfied with the result, you can come here again. This statement refers to the alternative route suggested by the Supreme Court, in which the petitioners were directed to go to the High Court first.
