Srinagar, November 11:
Dilbag Singh will take on defending champion Inayat Jahangir for the title of the Srinagar Open Tennis Championship 2024. They won their respective semifinal matches in straight sets on Sunday. Singh, who played brilliant tennis throughout the tournament. And defeated last year’s runner-up Haider Hussain 7-5, 6-2 in just under two hours. While there was a close contest between Singh and Hussain in the first set, Singh surged ahead in the second set to set up a final clash with Jahangir.
Defending champion Inayat had to give it his all to fend off the challenge of Rauf Ahmad. The score of 6-2, 6-2 in favour of Jahangir did not do justice to Ahmad’s effort. It is worth mentioning that after the singles event of the championship, the doubles tournament will be held next weekend. The Srinagar Open, organised by the District Lawn Tennis Association in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, is being played at the Gindun Tennis Court in Rajbagh here.
