Srinagar, October 7:
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Monday criticised Lok Sabha member Sheikh Abdul Rashid for his advice to delay government formation, saying it was playing into the hands of the BJP, which is trying to extend central rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
“This man goes to Delhi for 24 hours and comes back and plays into the hands of the BJP. If the BJP is not in a position to form a government, it will prefer anything to extend central rule in Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah said. The remarks came in response to Rashid’s statement in which he had urged all non-BJP parties to delay government formation in order to pressurise the Centre for restoration of statehood.
Omar Abdullah also said that all these predictions are already incomplete on the statement of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, in which he talked about taking the support of PDP. He has not extended support, nor offered support, and we do not know what the voter has decided. He advised everyone to stop such speculations for the next 24 hours.
