Rajouri, August 9:
On Saturday, security forces conducted an intensive mock drill on the Rajouri-Poonch national highway. The highway which is passing through Manjakot area to assess the situation of a terror attack.
During the mock drill, a situation similar to a terrorist attack was created on the highway. As soon as the information was received, security forces and police personnel immediately reached the spot. They have cordoned off the area and started operations to deal with the possible threat.
During this time, the exercise was conducted to control the traffic on the highway as well as search the sensitive area and strengthen the security system.
The Rajouri-Poonch National Highway is an important route from the point of view of security. Security agencies are keeping a special vigil on sensitive routes and important places in view of I-Day and Shri Baba Buddha Amarnath Yatra.
