Srinagar, July 10:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday visited the Amarnath Yatra base hospital in Baltal. He has to review the preparations and arrangements made for the pilgrims. During this time, he met the devotees admitted in the hospital and inquired about their condition and health facilities.
The Lt Governor also took stock of security, medical facilities and other necessary arrangements along the yatra route. The officials apprised him about the arrangements made for the convenience of the devotees and the preparations for the yatra.
Multi-layered security arrangements have been put in place along the entire route to make the Amarnath Yatra safe and smooth. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed Road Opening Parties (ROPs) on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway-44 to ensure safe movement of devotees.
The 84th battalion of CRPF has also set up a 24-hour mobile health camp at Chandrakot in Ramban district to provide immediate medical care to the pilgrims. Arrangements have been made for advanced life support ambulances, trained medical personnel and essential medicines in this camp.
On the seventh day of the yatra, around 10,000 pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu had left for the cave shrine. The pilgrims are travelling through Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
The administration has made elaborate arrangements for the safety, convenience and smooth journey of the devotees. Due to strict vigil and better traffic management by security forces on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the movement of the yatra convoys is going on smoothly.
The pilgrims have also expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements, medical aid and other facilities. The 57-day-long Amarnath Yatra began on July 3 and will conclude on August 28, the day of Raksha Bandhan.
