Jammu, December 30:
Lt Guv Manoj Sinha said amid the Tarakote ropeway controversy that the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board will take care of the interests of all stakeholders of Katra. The issue will be resolved only through dialogue. And a high-level committee is working in this direction. He has said that the construction of the ropeway will not reduce the number of passengers traveling through the old route. Tickets for using the ropeway will have to be taken at Niharika in Katra. In such a situation, whoever wants to travel by ropeway will have to come to Katra. If needed, the alignment of the Delhi-Katra Expressway can also be discussed.
The Lieutenant Governor told that the ropeway is being constructed in compliance with the instructions of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the Supreme Court. The NGT has asked to remove horses and mules from the old route in a phased manner. The board is working keeping that in mind. The LG said that the old route is being widened for the convenience of devotees and stakeholders.
