On the peaks of Kargil, Indian soldiers had to fight the weather there as well. Only after fighting the difficult weather, we were able to fight with our hands on the peaks. Param Vir Chakra winner Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, who reached the silver jubilee celebrations in Kargil, said that this battle was not easy at all.
Paramveer said that at that time it was very difficult to climb the peaks of Kargil. There was no way to go up. In such a situation, Indian soldiers climbed the peaks and fought with the enemy due to their training and efficient leadership. The Indian Army has made many sacrifices on the mountains of Kargil.
He said that everyone contributed to the victory of the Indian Army in the 1999 war. He said that I could not fight alone on the peak of Kargil. To do this, everyone from my company to my platoon gave me full support.
Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar of the Army’s 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles played a key role in recapturing the Flat Top from the enemy in Kargil. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for winning the peak by fighting face-to-face with the enemy. He originally hails from Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh.
