Jugal Kishore MP attended PMJAY inaugural function at Samba

On the inaugural function of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sh Jugal Kishore sharma today formally launched the universal health coverage scheme SEHAT at Conference Hall District Administrative Complex Nandani Hills Samba and distributed Ayushman Golden Cards to the beneficiaries.
While participating in the mega launch event of AB-PMJAY scheme by Honourable Prime Minister through video conference, the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sh Jugal Kishore Sharma said that J&K UT is top most priority of Govt of India and in this regard the universal medical health coverage to the habitants of J&K is dedicated. Member of Parliament asked the people to take the benefit of the scheme as this will cover all employees, pensioners and their family members. It provides free of cost universal health coverage to all residents of J&K who are not covered under AB-PMJAY, Rs. 5 lakh health cover for J&K families for treatment at all govt. & private empanelled hospitals.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba Rohit Khajuria on the occasion presented a detailed overview of the district samba health status including condition of District Hospital, Trauma Hospital, Sub district hospital, PHCs, CHCs availability of Medical staff including doctors besides upcoming projects under medical infrastructure in the district. He said that Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is a flagship health scheme of the central government and provides a cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. Under the portability feature of AB-PMJAY, the beneficiaries can avail services from any of the emplaned hospitals across the country. All the people can now avail free health insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakh per family per year on floater basis. Moreover, there is no restriction on family size, age or gender.
Giving minute details on the scheme Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr. Rajinder Samyal highlighted the importance and significance of sehat scheme. He added that the government is collecting details of beneficiary families who may be missing from the SECC 2011 database.
This will ensure that all beneficiaries are enrolled at the earliest so that they can avail free healthcare services. He further emphasized that National Health Authority’s (NHA) information technology platform like beneficiary identification system has been customized to implement the scheme. At present four public hospitals i.e DH Samba, AH Ghagwal, EH Vijaypur and CHC Ramgarh are empanelled to implement the scheme in the district along with private hospitals i.e This scheme will include life consuming diseases such as cancer and kidney failure. This scheme would also cover treatment for oncology, cardiology and nephrology related illness from day one including high-end diagnostic procedures during hospitalization. All the J&K Health Scheme beneficiaries shall be eligible for coverage of 3 days pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalization expenses.
On the occasion ,Golden cards were also distributed to the beneficiaries under AB: PMJAY Sehat scheme.
During the function additional district development commissioner Rachna Sharma, additional deputy commissioner Suram Chand sharma, additional SP, other district officers, representatives of local bodies from municipalities, panchayats, BDC chairman’s, president municipal councils besides beneficiaries of AB-PMJAY were present.
Chairman MC Samba Pawan Kohli, Chairman MC Vijaypur Deepak, DDC Members of District Samba, Sarpanches Panches and administrative staff Present at the occasion.
The function ended with vote of thanks by Dy. Chief Medical Officer, Samba, Dr, Sanjay Sharma.
