Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Dr Tahir Choudhary said that the Jammu and Kashmir will become self-reliant in next few as the government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has been taking continuous initiatives for the welfare of Union Territory despite being challenges faced by the outbreak covid-19 pandemic.
Hailing the Industrial Development Scheme with a total outlay of Rs 28,400 approved by Centre and announced by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, Dr Tahir Choudhary said that 2021 started on good note and more intitaives will be announced in future for the development of the Union Territory.
Claiming that the scheme will play crucial role in development, Dr Tahir Choudhary said, “With the implementation of this scheme, the problem of unemployment will be eliminated.”
Dr Tahir further said that the on January 3, the Jammu and Kashmir has signed historic MoUs with NHPC for the execution of five hydro power projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Not only this, the Union Power Minister R K Sharma announced liberal funding for Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Tahir sai.
Slamming previous regimes, Dr Tahir Choudhary said they were failed to tap identified hydro power potential of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Despite having huge potential to generate power, they purchase power to meet the demand in peak hours which cause huge loss to the revenue generation of J&K,” he said.
“Now under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, these projects will complete at the earliest to ensure that another 3,498 MW power is generated in the next three to four years,” Dr Tahir said.
Not only this, Dr Tahir Choudhary said that these projects will also provide job opportunities.
He said that the locals will be trained and given employment in the NHPC ventures besides the NHPC will ensure the development of small hydro projects.
